Major reconstruction in 1972/3 after a srrong enthusiasts' campaign persuaded the ZSG not to withdraw Stadt Rapperswil as they had originally planned
The affair led to the establishment of the "Aktion Pro-Raddampfer" Supporters' association and the raising of 1 million francs by public subscription..
Further refits took place in 1985/6 (with new boiler) and 2005/6
