Captain William
Pockett
Operated services out of
Swansea on the South Wales coast until the First World War, after
which, P and A Campbell took over responsibility. The main route was
the relatively exposed crossing to Ilfracombe on the north Devon
coast, where Captain Pockett's ships met those of Campbell, Edwards
and Robertson etc. As cruising became more popular, Pockett's ships
also visited other ports along the Bristol Channel coast.
