Fairfield Engineering & Shipbuilding Co, Glasgow
3-Cylinder Triple Expansion Diagonal engines (18.5 in, 29 in and 45
in x 48 in)
Dimensions : 199'6" x 27'1"
449 Gross Registered Tonnes
Built for the Holy Loch
service, she was a smaller version of "Caledonia" but with no access
to the deck above the saloons
Her smaller engines gave a speed of only around 12 knots
Her speed was adequate for the short haul Holy Loch run with frequent
stops which she undertook until 1953
Displaced to the Millport run for 1954, her speed was a severe
handicap and she was not a success on the route.
Sold in February 1955 and scrapped at Port
Glasgow
