Paddle Steamer Resources by Tramscape

2007 is the last season for La Suisse before she goes into dry dock for a
major overhaul and she is due to return to service in the summer of 2009. The
work has been partially funded by enthusiasts, particularly as a result of the
ABVL (Association des Amis des Bateaux a Vapeur sur le Lac Leman) taking
up a significant number of shares in the recent CGN share issues.
The
scope of the work will include restoring many original features especially the
upper deck rotund which was lost in 1960, replaced by a glazed saloon frontage
which has always detracted from the look of the vessel. A new more traditionally-styled
wheelhouse will also be fitted. Struts for removable canvas sunshades for the
upper deck forward will also be fitted. The kitchen will be moved to the lower
deck to allow for the constuction of a disabled toilet on the main deck.
